About this event
Sometimes it feels like we just can’t escape the experience of chronic stress. Or we are working with clients who are stuck in the familiar patterns of chronic stress — overwhelm, reactivity, emotional disregulation and an inability to rest or sleep.
The emotional stress we experience from both past trauma and the demands of modern life don’t just exist in our minds. Chronic stress can shift many of the physiological pathways in the body, creating new hormonal, neurological and physiological ‘normals’ that keep us stuck in chronic stress even when we begin to change our mindset around our past or current life circumstances.
This session will explore how we can use Breathwork to help the body break out of chronic stress cycles and thus facilitate the mental health journey. Breathwork is one of the most powerful tools to facilitate this body-level shift because it communicates directly with our nervous system, and thus can initiate the re-regulation of our body’s biochemistry, neurology and physiology pathways.
We will delve into the science of our chronic stress patterns, in order to understand the neurological, biochemical, and physiological aspects of that influence stress and our emotional states. Then we will deep-dive into two specific Breathwork practices that are most effective in addressing chronic stress patterns and are incredibly simple to practice and teach to clients.
Learning Objective Participants Can Expect From This Event
