About our Football Development Centres

Brentford FC Community Sports Trust’s Football Development Centre (FDC) has been in existence for over 18 years and offers talented young players and those with potential, an opportunity to receive a high-quality football education experience, enabling them to improve in a player-centred environment.

“We would like to thank the Brentford FC Football Development Centre and all the coaching staff for helping with Frankie’s footballing progress. He has thoroughly enjoyed the training after joining aged 7, the coaches and methods used by the development centre has had an incredibly strong and positive effect on him as a person and player” Damian Christian

The programme is self-sustaining through participant fees and has been in operation for over 16 years.

Players ranging from age 5 up to 16 (school year’s 1 to 11) attend the weekly training sessions at our venues in Southall, Twickenham and Uxbridge. Goalkeeper’s are catered for with specialist coaching staff taking sessions for them.

The FDC includes term-time training in the evening and a structured development match programme (optional) against other professional club’s Community Sports Trust’s such as Coventry City, Ipswich Town, MK Dons, Oxford United, Wycombe Wanderers and more. Matches take place during the holiday periods so do not cut across participants ‘grassroots football’ commitments.

In addition, we have established Performance Squads as a level up from the current FDC programme with the aim of giving players, who we think might be capable, a bigger challenge of taking on a higher level of opposition. Starting in April 2019, the players are selected and recruited from our current FDC programme and includes a second night of training at our new facility at Uxbridge High School Indoor Dome.

For those in Year 11, a route exists to apply for our U19 Football Education Programme in conjunction with West Thames College and William Perkin High School which is a potential pathway to Brentford FC's newly formed 'B' team. Contact details for this can be seen at the bottom of the page.

The trials cost £10.00 per person (plus booking fee) and places are strictly limited in all the age groups - your child must train in the correct year group for this trial.

Registration closes at 11;59pm, Friday 5th April 2019. NO PAY ON THE DAY APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED.

FDC Trial Itinerary – Tuesday 9th April 2019

We will be holding our tenth set of trials for our FDC at Uxbridge High School's state-of-the-art Indoor Dome in Uxbridge, Hillingdon.

The trials are separated into five sessions so please ensure you read the correct age group information for your son's age group. There will be a two hour training session consisting of one hour of technical practices and one hour of conditioned small-sided games.

If your child is successful then they will be invited to join their closest centre (if spaces are available), either Southall, Twickenham or Uxbridge for a 6 week extended assessment - this will not affect your child’s regular Saturday or Sunday football.

For unsuccessful trialists, we provide opportunities by offering a place on our Soccer Schools programme, part of the overall Football Development Pathway. Our Soccer Schools sessions provide evening football sessions’ which follow the same structure of our Football Development Centre. Our Soccer Schools hosted over 650 participants across the year of which many have now progressed to our FDC venues.

All trialist players will not be given feedback on the day and will be notifed of the outcome via email after the trial day.
