Description

Brexit and the Unified Patent Court (UPC)

On 28 November 2016 the UK Government confirmed that it is proceeding with preparations to ratify the Unified Patent Court (UPC) Agreement. This event will explain the key features of the UPC and assess the prospects for UK participation. It will consider how the Regulation on the European Patent with Unitary Effect could apply to the UK post-Brexit, what arrangements could be put in place so that the UK could participate in the UPC after Brexit and what would happen should the UK decide to leave the UPC.
