On 31st December, the UK’s Brexit Transition ends. SMME’s are asking “what happens next?”

They tell us that although there’s a mass of information around for larger organisations, it’s close to impossible to find out what smaller enterprises should do – especially as the UK only has a few months left to negotiate a new trade deal with the EU.

Uncertainty is always the worst option, so we’ve designed this Brexit Briefing specifically for SMME’s to give clarity, understanding and practical advice to help you survive and thrive.

Here’s what we’ll cover:

• A short neutral and factual summary of how we’ve got to where we are now

• A brief analysis of the structure of attendee’s organisations in different sectors

• A plain-language review of the three most likely outcomes

• What to do to prepare for the most likely scenarios

• How to plan to be ready for all eventualities

• What effect will Covid-19 have on all of this

• A question and answer session for specific attendee challenges

Everyone will be invited to complete and have with them a questionnaire that will help us to focus on live issues. You will also have the opportunity to submit by email prior to the event any sector-specific questions relating to your business that you need answered


About the facilitator: Sir Henry Boyle

Sir Henry Boyle has decades of experience as a businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Having worked with Government, public bodies, large corporates and SME’s in a wide variety of business sectors he now concentrates mainly on helping go-ahead people to set up businesses and assisting small enterprises to thrive and grow in changing business environments, such as those driven by Brexit. Since March, he has also been preparing and distributing information briefings designed to help SMME’s through the Coronavirus crisis.

Do you record your events?

'Yes we do, as part of our marketing strategy, we regularly record and take photos during our events to use on our website, email newsletters, social media and other promotional materials. We reserve the rights to upload to our website and share with others.

Is there a cancellation charge?

No, however as we cover the full cost of running the event, we would appreciate 24 hours' notice or that you cancel your ticket 24 hours before the event, which will allow another business on our waiting list to take the space or for us to reduce our costs.

Building Legacies is a fully funded enterprise growth and procurement support programme which provides tailored solutions for London-based SMMEs seeking competitive business advantage.

The programme, a partnership of private and public sector organisations, is a flagship local business growth and procurement support project of the East London Business Place (ELBP) and Newham College of Further Education’s Centre for Innovation & Partnerships (CIPs).

Part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the purpose of this initiative is to deliver a sustained support programme tackling gaps in SMEs’ growth, innovation, contract-readiness and knowledge of procurement and supply-chain requirements.
