Description
"People in this country have had enough of experts" Michael Gove famously told Faisal Islam in the run-up to the European Union UK referendum.
With the referendum in the rear-view, Article 50 triggered and phase one of Brexit negotiations complete; Open Forum Events is collaborating with some of the UK’s leading higher education experts to present Brexit: A Degree of Clarity. An event dedicated to scrutinising the impact of Brexit on the higher education sector.
Open Forum Events will bring together leaders in higher education policy making, data strategists, vice-chancellors, academics and trade union representatives to deliver an event reviewing the areas of threat posed to the sector by Brexit, as well as how the UK's world-leading universities will play into the negotiating power of the government. Some of the topics covered by the first-rate roster of keynote speakers includes:
- The implications of Brexit for EU students looking to study in the UK.
- Access to integral EU research funding for UK universities.
- Mounting pressure on UK universities to prevent further decline of recruitment and retention of Continental staff.
- Continued British inclusion in student and academic staff mobility schemes.
A clear vision of post-Brexit Britain is still clouded by the bureaucratic fog between Westminster and Brussels. This conference will wade through the mist to establish a clear vision of how the UK maintains its world-leading reputation for delivering higher education and innovative research.
