Event Details

Join chair Zoe Williams and our panel of Guardian writers, including chief leader writer Randeep Ramesh; Lisa O'Carroll, Brexit correspondent; and Rowena Mason, deputy political editor, as they discuss the unfolding Brexit chaos.

The Prime Minister prorogues parliament for five weeks, the longest suspension since 1945. After a crucial vote, 21 rebel MPs are expelled from the Tory party, leaving the PM leading a minority government. The opposition votes against the government's motion for a general election. The Prime Minister considers breaking the law to defy parliament. At any other time, any single one of these events would dominate the headlines.

As we race towards the Brexit deadline, our panel of journalists will discuss the extraordinary events of the last few weeks, and analyse the latest developments. Will the EU grant a further extension or could we still crash out without a deal? When could an early general election happen and what are the prospects for a divided Labour Party and a Conservative Party in turmoil? With parliament in chaos, have voters simply started to tune out? Our panel will be sifting through the confusion as it unfolds. More speakers to be announced.
