Brexit; Informing Scottish Business, Before and Beyond
Wed 19 April 2017, 09:00 – 16:00 BST
I am delighted to bring to your attention our upcoming conferecne entitled Brexit; Informing Scottish Business, Before and Beyond which is kindly being supported by the BSI.
Since the result of the Referendum, the UK has been dealing with the challenges of leaving the EU and the changes that this may bring to the business environment in the future.
The conference is aimed at any company or industry sector that imports or exports goods to and from the UK or who obtains raw materials from abroad and faces the uncertainty of how their business relations will differ at the conclusions of the negotiations. Article 50 will have been triggered, according to PM Teresa May, by the conference date, and this will be one of the first opportunities to consider, with some clarity, what contingencies will need to be considered during the negotiation phase and what the market place is going to look like at their conclusion.
The event will be in two sections with speaker inputs during the morning session and a workshop in the afternoon looking at three key areas that business needs to consider to maintain current business and indeed to identify possible opportunities for expansion.
The ministeral address will be provided by Humza Yousaf MSP Minsiter for Transport. Other notable speakers include a welcome from DIPS Chair John Fallen, David Fairnie BSI and Neil Amner Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.
