Event description

Description

An information session for University of Leeds colleagues who may be concerned or have queries about the effect of Brexit on immigration matters. Emma Brooksbank, Partner and immigration specialist at Freeths Solicitors, will be visiting campus to update staff and to answer general queries.

The session will cover the current situation for European nationals and their family members in the UK and how the position is anticipated to change in the coming years. Emma will focus on permanent residence applications and applications to naturalise as a British Citizen, and the proposal from government relating to settled status. This will include the practicalities of making an application and key areas of difficulty.

The session is designed to have room for discussion and there will be ample time at the end for questions.

Please note that Emma will not be able to give advice on individual cases at these sessions. However, one to one meetings are available, free of charge, with her or a colleague. If you're interesting in booking a personal meeting, please contact Lisa Courtney for details.

Directions (facing away from Parkinson steps):

Follow the path to your right then turn right underneath the link building, go straight ahead, past the Great Hall (on the right), and turn into Clothworkers Court. Clothworkers Central Building is on your left.
