We are delighted to invite you to our Brexit: local and devolved government conference in partnership with LSE's Institute of Public Affairs.

The event will explore the impact of Brexit on local government and on Britain’s towns, cities and regions and nations.

Speakers and panels will include:

  • Empowering local government: Lord Porter (Chair of the Local Government Association), chaired by Anthony Painter (Director, Action and Research Centre, RSA)
  • Cities vs everywhere else: the new divide? Lisa Nandy (Member of Parliament, Wigan), Sir John Curtice (Senior Fellow, The UK in a Changing Europe)
  • How Brexit may affect Britain’s regions and localities: Professor Philip McCann (University of Sheffield Management School), chaired by Sarah O'Connor (Financial Times)
  • Devolution Post-Brexit: Professor Michael Keating (Chair in Scottish Politics, University of Aberdeen and Senior Fellow, The UK in a Changing Europe), Dr Katy Hayward (Queen's University Belfast)
  • England post Brexit: power to the regions? Professor Tony Travers (Director of the Institute of Public Affairs, LSE), Andrew Carter (Chief Executive, Centre for Cities)
  • Two high profile keynotes to be announced.
