Event description

Description

The UK leaving the European Union (under a no deal scenario) will see changes to importing and exporting wood, wood products and bark between the UK and EU. To assist members the Timber Trade Federation has been working with the Forestry Commission (FC) Plant Health department and other UK Government departments to organise BREXIT planning workshops, the first of which will take place in York on the 7th February and the second in London on the 15th February.

These workshops are open to all TTF members, but will be of relevance to Importers, exporters, Agents and those businesses who up until now may have seen themselves as Distributors rather than Importers from the European Union. The content aims to address the key issues and provide essential information in terms of:

  • Import and export of wood, wood products and isolated bark between the UK and EU, including provisions for importing both bulk and specialist products illustrated by case studies
  • Changes to Plant Health requirements
  • Responsibilities under the new UKTR (replacing EUTR in the UK), BEIS and changes to CITES procedures

We would like to invite you and your colleagues to attend, but in order to give all members the opportunity to participate we are suggesting a limit of two representatives per company.

The workshop will start at 12pm with Coffee and Registration and have a planned finish time of 4.pm. The Agenda is being finalised and will be circulated to registered delegates ahead of the workshop.
