Bridge 5 - "40 Times Out of 50" Film Screening and Q&A with Juice Aleem
Juice Aleem is a multi-disciplinary artist, MC, host and workshop facilitator. A contributor to musical and cultural publications as well as a former keynote speaker at institutions such as Bristol, Cork and Hamburg universities. In 2016 Aleem released a book on Afrofuturism, entitled 'Afrofutures and Astro Black Travel'. As cultural curator of Afroflux he brings his vast experience in artistic and educational planes to a unique Afrofuturistic focal point for the benefit of ALL.
40 Times out of 50 - A Birmingham Hip Hop Story: A short film directed by Juice Aleem, exploring the 40+ years of Hip-Hop culture in Birmingham. With interviews and archive footage the film tells the story of Hip-Hop' many starts in the second city.
Come join us for a special evening at Tyneside Cinema for the screening of the film "40 Times Out of 50". After the film, we'll have a Q&A session with Juice Aleem.
There will be an afterparty event at Meat:Stack (close by) with DJs and the launch of the official Bridge Burger which will be exclusively available from Meat:Stack for the duration of the festival.
