The meeting
The talk will cover the development of bridges over the ages, but will concentrate on Robert Stephenson's influence on later designs.
The meeting room will open at 7:00pm for discussion between attendees and the talk will start at 7:30pm.
Registration for the meeting
This will be a “live” online meeting using Zoom with a presentation and the opportunity to ask questions. For those of you who have not tried this, don’t worry! It is very simple to take part using either a computer or device such as an iPad or smartphone.
If you wish to attend the online meeting then you must register in advance. Click the "Reserve a spot" button to the right then enter your name and email address and click the "Register" button.
You will then shortly receive an "Order Received" email which you should keep until after the meeting.
You may receive a Registration Confirmation email which you can ignore.
You will receive a further reminder email two days before the event and a final reminder email 2 hours before the event.
Joining the meeting
When you wish to join the meeting, open the "Order Received" email and click the link called " View event details" to bring you back to this event page. There will now be a link called "Access Link" under Location above.
Click "Access Link" to open a new browser tab which will contain a link called "Open in Zoom". Click "Open in Zoom".
If you wish to see automatic transcription (subtitles), join the meeting via browser when asked, then enable subtitles (See Instructions).
Other ways to join the meeting
The reminder emails will contain a direct link to Zoom which you can use to bypass Eventbrite if you are having problems.
