This month we will have a trip to the African continent from Nigeria to Morocco via Ghana to discover 3 amazing photographers through their own lenses;

ARTISTS



LOGOR OLUWAMU - Nigeria

Photographer Logor Oluwamuyiwa was born in Lagos in July 1990. Logor’s interest is to engage both eye and equipment to observe the unique human carnival in Lagos and the world around him by capturing people, things and narratives that are often overlooked, ignored or taken for granted.


ARTIST STATEMENT

Logor explores aspects of visual and digital archiving by showing and exposing the idiosyncrasies and aesthetics of the city in its true character and reflection. He is an advocate for positive and rich storytelling via the digital media as a tool for reorientation and pathways to new dialogue and knowledge acquisition.


DAVID KWAW MENSAH - Ghana

David Kwaw Mensah is a photographer originally from Ghana, based in the UK, part of the diverse voices of the African London Diaspora. Fascinated by the magic of cinema and the creation of poetry, he also believed in the power of images.


ARTIST STATEMENT

Treating images as poems David has a focus on portraits and event photography. In his work, he uses lights to express feelings and connections of and toward the subjects. David explores London’s events with subjects from the African Diaspora and poetic titles.


RACHID TAGOULLA - Morocco

Rachid is a professional photographer from Agadir, Morocco. Part of the Photography Club in Agadir he has participated in the curation and organisation of many exhibitions. Acting as an educator and mentor he has facilitated many photography workshops. His work has been exhibited in Morocco, France and Germany. Furthermore, the young multitalented photographer has received awards by many organizations across the globe from Morocco, in the UK and all the way to Kuwait.


ARTIST STATEMENT

Rachid depicts the immensity of the Sahara desert, one of the most prominent entities of nature in Africa – most especially North Africa. The Sahara is the home of some groups among Amazigh people, some are travelling the land in caravans, others are working with the land around the oasis.





AFROSHOOT

AfroShoot is an innovative platform with the mission to celebrate the work of photographers from Africa and African descent through synergy in order to push forward an Afrikan vision of the world through the lens to the mainstream. AfroShoot aims at sharing those experiences & connecting Africa communities worldwide through a variety of exhibitions, conferences, seminars, workshops, networking events and more to come.
