Description
The Nordic Research Network would like to invite you to an interdisciplinary day conference for postgraduates and early career researchers to be held at the University of Glasgow on May 4th 2016, entitled "Bridges Between: Norse and Insular Worlds AD 500-1500." The keynote address for the conference will be given by Dr. Steve Ashby (University of York).
The conference fee of £10 includes event entry, tea/coffee & lunch.
If you wish to attend the relaxed post-conference dinner at Inn Deep, our favourite pub in Glasgow, please make sure to add this to your purchase (£10). Numbers are capped, so don't delay!
While the conference venue is wheelchair accessible, the venue for dinner is not. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
We are pleased to offer a special discount rate of £5 for Scottish Society for Northern Studies Members (Please visit the SSNS website to join).
For draft programme, accomodation options, and further information see our website.
The Scottish Archaeological Research Framework (ScARF) is generously offering to fund up to 5 student delegates to attend this conference (in addition to a complementary one and a half year Student Fellowship to the Scottish Society of Antiquaries). Please see their website for further details and to download the application form.
The conference will be held at the Gregory Building, Lilybank Gardens, and registration commences at 8am on the 4th May, with the opening remarks at 8.45.
