Event description
September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month, and we are holding our second Bridges of Britain walk!

About this event

Our 2020 Bridges of Britain walk was an amazing day... 117 walkers across the UK raised over £34,000 to support people affected by lymphoma! And this year we're aiming to make it bigger and better than ever, to raise even more funds and awareness.

Taking part is simple - just walk your own 7 mile route crossing your local bridges on Sunday 26 September and ask your friends to sponsor you to take part. You can go at your own pace, so all ages and abilities are welcome. Why not ask your friends and family to join in and walk with you?

Everyone taking part will receive a medal, and grown-ups will get a Lymphoma Action t-shirt to walk in. There will also be a prize for the person or group who can walk over the most bridges! Last year the record was an amazing 21 bridges, achieved by joint winners Pearl (Bristol) and Lydia (Stevenage) - but can their record be beaten?

Event date: Sunday 26 September, or any date that works best for you.

Distance: 7 miles

Bridges: 1+. (Aim for your route to include at least 1 bridge - there will be a prize for the person who crosses the most bridges!)

Location: All across the UK

Sponsorship target: £150

How to join in with our Bridges of Britain walk

• Plan your 7 mile route to include at least 1 bridge, and see how many bridges you can fit in!

• Set up an online fundraising page where your friends and family can sponsor you - our recommended partner for this event is GivePenny (as it's integrated with Strava, Fitbit and Runkeeper so that you can track your walk, and integrated with Spotify so that you can ask your friends for donations in exchange for adding a song to your playlist) but you can of course use JustGiving, Virgin Money Giving, or set up a Facebook fundraiser if you prefer.

• Share your fundraising page on social media, tell people why you are taking part, and ask for donations from your friends and family.
