About this event
Chloe Male, a Health Psychologist in Training has undertaken consultancy for the City of Wolverhampton Councils Public Health Team to design a behaviour change intervention to increase physical activity levels in local older adults. By attending this session you will become aware of the physical activity needs of older adults (65+) in Wolverhampton, understand the ask, advise and act principles of brief advice and its application to physical activity. You will receive access to a supplementary leaflet, underpinned by specific behaviour change techniques to provide to the older adult, complementing your brief advice.
What is Brief Advice?
Brief advice is a short, simple but effective intervention. Brief advice can be delivered at almost every opportunity you have to have a conversation with an older adult.

The training is suitable for anyone working with older adults in the Wolverhampton area.
Course outcomes
By attending this session, you will:
1. Become aware of the physical activity needs of older adults (65+) within Wolverhampton
2. Understand the ask, advise and act principles of Brief Advice (BA) and its application to physical activity (PA)
3. Know how and where to access a supplementary leaflet (underpinned by specific behaviour change techniques) that will complement your brief advice.
