Description

This briefing session will start the CIFO funding review. It will set out the current model, explain the aims and timetable of the review and seek views from stakeholders on issues with the current model and areas for the review to consider.

The funding review will comprise a multi-phase consultation during 2017-8. The objective is to arrive at a consensus position on a viable cost allocation approach for CIFO that has multi-stakeholder buy-in by mid-2018, for implementation in January 2019.

The initial briefing session will also be run on Thursday 20 April at 12-1pm, at St James Concert & Assembly Hall and in Jersey on Friday 21 April at 12-1pm & Tuesday 25 April at 9 – 10am.

CIFO will consult stakeholders during 2017 on the broad principles of different funding approaches to allocate CIFO’s operating costs and will be seeking views from all stakeholders in order to identify a new approach. In 2018, CIFO will use the data on complaint volumes from two full years’ operations to illustrate the new approach and refine as necessary with stakeholder input, to arrive at a consensus position on the new approach for implementation in January 2019.
