BRT’s Freelance Academy will be run entirely online and is open to Edinburgh Napier students, staff and graduates. The programme will give you the opportunity to explore self-employment as a career option, and give you the information you need to succeed as a freelancer.

What content is covered?

The programme is interactive and covers the most important and practical aspects of working for yourself, including:

• An introduction to freelancing

• Finding your niche

• Identifying your target market

• Exploring marketing techniques

• Managing client relationships

• Project management techniques

• Financial and legal requirements

• Helpful resources and networks for freelancers

• Personal development and well-being

You will also get the opportunity to hear from full-time freelancers who will share their self-employment stories and answer your questions.

When?

The programme consists of a plethora of online materials as well as four live online interactive sessions with our expert Business Advisers, which will be held on:

• 12:00 PM – 16:00 PM Wednesday, 3 November 2021

• 12:00 PM – 16:00 PM Wednesday, 10 November 2021

• 12:00 PM – 16:00 PM Wednesday, 17 November 2021

• 12:00 PM – 16:00 PM Wednesday, 24 November 2021

Where?

Interactive workshops will be held online and are a required part of the programme. You will be emailed a link to join each call prior to the session starting.
