Session Overview –

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service will again deliver our Bright Sparx Bonfire & Fireworks education package this year on-line via Microsoft Teams.

Focussing on how to stay safe during the Bonfire period, the law related to fireworks and the dangers and consequences of firework misuse the one-off 15 minute sessions will take place on different days and times, running from Monday 13th October to Friday 17th October.

The 15 minute Bright Sparx session is aimed at KS3 and above students covering:

  • Keeping safe during the Bonfire period
  • Consequences of misusing fireworks
  • Fireworks and the law

Session information –

  • All sessions will be held on Microsoft Teams - we are unable to deliver on any other platform.
  • The session will start at the time stated, but please join the session 10 minutes before to make sure you can access it.
  • All attendees microphones will be disabled in the session to reduce distruption, however the 'chat' function will accessible in case you need it.
  • You will require speakers and a screen to see the presentation.

Sessions may only be booked by secondary schools, colleges or education settings for KS3 and above in Lancashire, Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool. Frequently asked questions

Do I need to book multiple tickets for my school?

Only one ticket is required if multiple classes within a school will be going the same session. If you wish classes to join on different days, then please book a ticket for each session required.

How much does this cost?

As with all our education sessions, Lancashire Fire & Rescue does not charge.

What if I would like someone to come into my school/college/setting to delivery face to face?

Our main offer for bonfire and firework safety is virtually, however if you would like to discuss a face-to-face delivery, please email preventionsupport@lancsfirerescue.org.uk and we will advise based on capacity.
