Join a social sew-a-long with Sew Marvellous to create textile flowers for Brandwood's summer yarn bomb (sewing by hand)!
About this event
Join us for a free sew-a-long event and enjoy an evening sewing in company and with purpose to contribute to our flower power yarn-bomb-tastic craft campaign this summer.
Volunteers from the Sew Marvellous charity will be on hand to share their skills if you are new to sewing flowers.
We will bring the fabric and cotton. This is a sewing by hand activity.
What's Brighten Up Brandwood all about?
We are inviting volunteers to share their skills and decorate Brandwood’s streets with creativity and colour whilst the Commonwealth Games are on (28 July-8 August).
Can you contribute one or more yarn or textile flowers to a temporary outdoor art gallery around the Brandwood area (e.g. a mass yarn bomb on railings and trees?)
This event is aimed at adults and young people aged 14+.
The flower artworks will find themselves a good home after they have been on display.
