About this event

Health • Mental health

Do you have experience of mental health services in Brighton & Hove or do you care for someone who does?

Brighton & Hove's Mental Health Lived Experience Advisory Group are looking for new members and we'd like to meet anyone with experience of using mental health service within the city as a patient or carer. This will be a casual meet-up for anyone who might be interested to meet the team and members of the group to find out more. Drinks are on us and we can reimburse travel within the Brighton and Hove area if needed.

Who are Possability People?

Possability People is a charity that focuses on empowering people with lived experience to be actively involved in the design, delivery, and evaluation of services that impact their lives. Since 2021, Possability People has been commissioned to support lived experience co-production across the Community Mental Health Transformation Programme. In this role, the charity facilitates the meaningful participation of individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges, ensuring their voices are heard and their insights are integrated into the development and improvement of mental health services.

Through co-production, Possability People helps to shape services that are more responsive, accessible, and relevant to the needs of those they serve, promoting diversity and inclusion, and improving outcomes for individuals with severe mental illness.

We believe that people who have experienced mental health services are well placed to inform decision-makers about what worked well or what worked less well for them. By sharing this feedback, commissioners and other people planning services have better information to develop and improved what they do.

The Fitzherbert's Community Centre has an accessible cafe with a wheelchair accessible toilet. If you have any support needs to attend please contact us on inclusion@possability.org.uk or call 01273 894040 to discuss what we can do for you.
