About this event
A rock 'n' roll riot, a smashed sweet shop, and a secret undercover reporter create the perfect ingredients for a thrilling Brighton adventure!
As the legend goes, in May 1967, when Brighton's first major international rock festival was cancelled at the last minute, it sparked widespread rioting across the city. One location that was particularly badly hit was the iconic seafront sweetshop 'Brighton Rock', which was owned by the incredibly unpopular local MP Roger Whitby. Was the damage to his shop simply a random act of violence? Or had Whitby been the victim of a targeted attack against him?
With your interactive mystery guide, you must track down the clues, solve a range of cryptic puzzles hidden in Brighton's lanes, and finally uncover the lost newspaper article that reveals the identity of the legendary vandal!
Start your hunt to solve the mysterious tale of 'Who Smashed Brighton Rock' at a unique whiskey emporium, and set off on an amazing puzzle adventure through the city's historic streets. On your journey, you will be transported back to the 1960s as you hunt Brighton's iconic lanes for the culprit behind the legendary vandalism of the city's most famous sweetshop. As you complete the cryptic puzzles and hunt down the hidden clues, you will visit Brighton's most iconic sights, discover its most legendary characters, and enjoy its most atmospheric pubs.
Each clue that you solve allows you to eliminate a potential suspect or piece of evidence, until you are left with all of the information that you need to track down a hidden newspaper article and crack the legendary Brighton mystery!
