About this event
The date of this event has changed - it is now on 8th March 1 o'clock to 2 o'clock.
Come and join us for Brigstow Presents… Approaches to Access, a conversation that brings together two of our current co-produced projects for brief presentations on their progress and an opportunity for questions and conversation from you. These interdisciplinary projects consider how to make places, spaces and experiences more physically and technologically accessible and participative. From exploring whether audio description can be effectively used in video games for those who are visually impaired, to how someone experiencing loneliness and isolation can be present and connect with others in a space where that are not.
The projects are:
AD4Games: making video games accessible for visually impaired players with Xiaochun Zhang (Modern Languages), Andy Flack (History), Stuart Gray (Computer Science), Jane Devoy (audio describer, filmmaker, writer and creative researcher), Sonia Castelo Branco (audio describer, writer and voice-over artist), and Claire Morewood and Chella Ramanan (both from 3-Fold Games).
Prehension Blooms - expanding access to creative spaces for isolated people using soft robots with Hemma Philamore (Engineering Mathematics), Adrienne Hart (Neon Dance) and Helen Manchester (Education).
Please note that this meeting will take place online and will be recorded. A subtitled recording will be made available after the meeting.
