Bring History to Life with Miss Cranston’s Classroom

Join us for a unique CPD opportunity that brings learning to life through living history. Hosted at the iconic Mackintosh at the Willow, this hands-on session introduces you to Miss Cranston’s Classroom—a brand-new immersive learning experience designed for P4–P7 pupils - supporting learning across Social Studies, Literacy, Numeracy, and Expressive Arts, while also encouraging teamwork, confidence, and creativity.

This CPD session allows you to step into the shoes of your pupils and take part in the experience yourself. You'll meet Miss Kate Cranston, the formidable and inspiring Glasgow businesswoman behind the historic tea rooms and find out what your learners can expect when they visit her 1903 training classroom.

During the session, you will:

• Take part in an immersive taster of Miss Cranston’s Classroom, just like your pupils would.

• Explore the only remaining Mackintosh-designed tea room in the world, with cross-curricular links—covering Social Studies, Literacy, Numeracy, and Expressive Arts.

• Learn how the experience supports CfE outcomes, active learning, and creativity in the classroom.

• Gain practical ideas and resources to extend the learning back at school – including Mackintosh-style stencilling.

• Network with fellow teachers and share ideas over a cakes and cup of tea (of course!).
