About this event
Join Heidi McIlvenny, Marine Conservation Manager, to find out how we are bringing back native oysters to Northern Ireland and the huge benefits this will bring, from supporting sustainable fisheries to fighting climate change. Extensive oyster beds are known to have existed in Strangford, Carlingford, Foyle and Belfast Lough for several hundred years, but most stocks crashed during the late nineteenth or early twentieth century.
This talk will be held online via zoom and is free for Ulster Wildlife members and £3.00 for non-members. Please include your membership number (or postcode, if number not known) when booking.
