Bringing Meditation to Life: introductory workshop to meditation with Will
Event Information
Description
From managing stress and difficult emotions to experiencing more fully the beauty of life, meditation offers a simple, powerful and timeless practice. It is also sometimes hard to know where to start or to know what to do with it when you have started. Through this experiential workshop we’ll explore a route into meditation in way that you can apply to everyday life - the workshop is suitable for both beginners and for those who want to take their meditation practice further.
The basis of the workshop will be iRest® Yoga Nidra, a 10 step process of pro-active meditation inquiry. iRest has been developed over 40 years by Dr. Richard Miller and associates, drawing on the ancient tradition of Yoga Nidra (the meditative heart of yoga) and adapted to the conditions of modern day life. Research has demonstrated iRest, as an educational process, can effectively alleviate anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, depression, PTS and chemical dependency. For a taste of iRest see www.irest.org/inner-resource
There is no cost for the event however you can offer a contribution to the River Room if you would like.
