Description

Bristol Doctoral Teacher Symposium: Balancing Teaching and Research

Are you a doctoral researcher who teaches? Do you want to learn about available support? Do you want to network with your peers?

Join us at this symposium for doctoral researchers who teach at the University of Bristol, on 3 July 2018 in the M Shed.

This event will enable you to make connections and share experiences with your peers, as well as reflect on good practice and discuss the main opportunities and challenges of being a doctoral teacher in different disciplines.

Why should doctoral researchers who teach attend this event?

  • You'll have the chance to ask our panels of experts about available support, development opportunities, and career pathways.

  • You'll hear presentations about being a new teacher and the transferrable skills this provides.

  • You'll be able to discuss your own experience as a doctoral teacher and listen to others' practice of balancing teaching and research.

Registration opens at 9:30 am, with the event sessions running from 10 am to 4:30 pm. A wine reception will be held from 4:30 to 6 pm for all attendees.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

A detailed schedule for the day will be circulated with attendees shortly.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact Dr Conny Lippert.
