Event description

Description

Discover the hidden depths of Bristol’s past and explore the network of tunnels underneath Temple Meads Station, originally designed by I.K. Brunel. Catch a rare glimpse of the Air Raid Shelter and the original vaults used to service the station and trains – a unique insight into British railway history. Limited access.

Visitors are requested to wear sturdy, closed toe footwear as the floor is uneven and damp in places. Volunteers may refuse access if your footwear is inappropriate.

Visitors are asked to bring a torch if they have one, this is useful but not essential as temporary lighting is in place.

No children under 7 years old. The tour is inappropriate for those with mobility issues or those who suffer with claustrophobia, please do not join the group if this applies to you.

The tour is in an operational environment and may be cancelled or cut short at any time. We may be unable to rearrange if this happens.

Visitors must arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time to receive a safety brief and be provided with a high visibility top and hard hat.

Visitors will be met on Lower Station Approach, near Hart’s Bakery.
