Bristol Nature Network & Festival of Nature Volunteer Relaunch

Do you want to see more action for nature in Bristol in 2020? Do you want to meet like-minded wildlife fans, nature nerds and conservationists? Do you want to be part of the UK’s biggest public celebration of the natural world in 2020?

Join Bristol Nature Network and Festival of Nature for our 2020 kickstarter workshop. Together we will set the ambitions for the network over the next year and link up with amazing volunteering and events opportunities for an amazing summer of wildlife.

What is the Bristol Nature Network?

Bristol Nature Network is a community of young people(18-30ish) who share a passion for nature! Our aim is to help others learn about the natural world, develop skills, meet other like-minded people, and find out about all the amazing activities happening across Bristol!

The network was started by Festival of Nature volunteers after the 2014 festival who were looking to branch out and create their own social nature-based activities beyond the volunteering opportunities available . The online community has since grown to over 2,000 members and events, including a monthly networking drinks, are currently organised by a voluntary committee all year round!

Why a relaunch and why now?

Since 2014 so much has changed and in the wake of climate strikes, extinction rebellion and the announcement of an ecological emergency we want to ensure that BNN is still communicating and supporting every young nature lover’s needs in Bristol!

With the UK’s largest free celebration of the natural world (Festival of Nature) running from 24th April – 7th June in 2020 and including such exciting events as City Nature Challenge, talks, workshops, training, as well as two city centre flagship events, March seems like the perfect time to find out how Bristol Nature Network can get involved in this eclectic programme and combine skills and training opportunities!

What’s happening on the 12th March?

The Festival of Nature Team and Bristol Nature Network committee want to know what you want to see happening here in Bristol and let you know about the opportunities coming up in 2020. Following a small briefing and networking session, there will be brainstorming on what you would like to see over the coming months and how you can be involved.

This event will be perfect for those who have not been involved in Bristol Nature Network before, or those long-standing members who would like to be more involved!
