Bristol Parent Carer Forum Support Group: South Bristol
Date and time
No need to book, just pop in for a chat and to get advice from local services and other families.
About this event
We run monthly support groups that you can attend without an appointment. They operate from three venues across Bristol in the North, Central and South areas. If you have difficulty reaching these areas please contact us and we can refund you the cost of your travel.
The groups are informal and provide an opportunity to meet with other parents and carers that may be in the same boat as you. There are often colleagues from SEND and You and Carers Support Centre who can provide you with advice and information. Most groups have a therapist on-site (such as a hand massage) so that you can relax a little while you visit.
The support groups also provide you with an opportunity to let us know about issues that perhaps are not going so well for you. We cannot advocate for individual families but we will take any issues back to service leaders as suggestions for improvements. If you can’t make it to a support group you can also give us feedback anonymously via our feedback page here.
If you are worried or anxious about attending a support group please pop us an email and we will arrange to meet you at the venue and help settle you in; we know very well how difficult it can be to arrive at a group as a new face
