Bristol Springtime Wild Food Walk
Sun 9 April 2017, 11:00 – 13:30 BST
An introduction to the wonderful world of wild food foraging and plant identification with experienced wild plantsman Chris Hope.
Join us on a leisurely stroll around Clifton downs, taking in the stunning Avon gorge and its fabulous plant diversity. Try some of the tasty wild plants, then take home my fabulous 'foragers 'top trumps' style card game (included in the ticket price)
On the day you will meet and learn how to identify between 20-30 species. We cover numerous aspects of the ancient arts of foraging, including the legal side, safety and responsibility issues, harvesting techniques, plant preparation, as well as the fast track methods of plant identification using plant patterns.
We will be taking in a few habitats, including urban, woodland and the rocky limestone gorge itself. Understanding habitats and landscape helps you hone in the plants you find there.
Some tasty treats will be brought along for you to taste, and all have the chance to take home my foragers playing cards or 'top trumps' style card game, designed to make learning about foraging fun and games!
Please bring suitable clothing for the changerable British climate! Styrdy boots and waterproofs are advisable.
Supervised children and dogs are more than welcome!
Under 16's can come for half price, while under 12's come free with a paying adult.
A limited number of early bird tickets are available. All tickets are non refundable.
I hope to see you there!
