About this event
Pretty soon Bristol City Council (BCC) and the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Social Care in Bristol, will be revisited by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission.
They will be carrying out their re-inspection of SEND services in Bristol. We are not given much notice of when they may return and so we are carrying out this work in anticipation of their arrival. When they inform us of their arrival we will update parents and carers urgently.
Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission inspected Bristol Local Area in autumn 2019, to check how well education, health and social care partners provide SEND services. They identified 5 areas of weakness.
A plan was put together in March 2020 to monitor these 5 improvements and the progress made against them. This plan is known as the Written Statement of Action (WSoA). You can read the plan here and the updates here.
When Ofsted return we want to make sure that we represent the parent carer voice and convey how you have experienced SEND in Bristol over the last 27 months. We are holding some informal workshops to get to know you better and understand what has gone well for you in that time and perhaps what hasn't.
We would love to meet you for a proper cuppa and a biscuit but due to Covid-19 these events will be held online. You can talk to us in real life at support groups.
For those that can not attend at any of these times, we have also prepared 5 surveys (one for each area of improvement) which you can access here. The surveys take about 5-8 minutes each to complete and you can access them for 4 weeks. If you have a google account your progress will be saved.
