The crisis in Gaza - harming two million Palestinians - is worsening by the day. The mainstream British media carries little news of it, and social media too often plays to prejudices. In this seminar, British and Middle East experts will explore with the audience how the national and Scots media, and our elected representatives, can address this desperate challenge to humanity.

Chair:

Allan Little former BBC foreign correspondent. Chair, Edinburgh Book Festival

Speakers:

Sarah Helm former Middle east correspondent, The Independent

Don Macintyre journalist, author of Gaza, preparing for Dawn

Greg Philo Professor of Communications and Social Change, University of Glasgow.

Jamie McGoldrick, UN Humanitarian Coordinator, Palestine.

Ilan Baruch Israeli Ambassador to South Aftrica (retired)

Sir Vincent Fean British Consul-General Jerusalem 2010-14
