Description

What is Heartstart?

Heartstart is the British Heart Foundation's initiative to teach emergency life saving skills to the British public. By attending a course, you're helping us create a nation of life savers – where everyone knows how to save a life.

The course is in conjunction with the St. George's Emergency Medicine Society and the British Heart Foundation

What you’ll learn at a Heartstart course

The British Heart Foundation supports over 1,700 Heartstart schemes which teach life saving skills in schools and in the community.

Individuals or groups can attend a two-hour training course and learn how to:

  • recognise a heart attack and a cardiac arrest
  • help an unconscious person
  • perform CPR

If you have booked a place on a course and cannot attend, can you please email Simon Pullen at m1601690@sgul.ac.uk as soon as possible so that your place can be reallocated.

Where to meet?

The course is run in Hunter Wing of St. George's Hospital in Tooting. We tend to meet at outside the reception in Hunter wing, so if you sit on the chairs opposite the reception, someone in red t-shirt will be down to collect you at 18:00!

Be warned, car parking is expensive at the hospital, so consider public transport! All the infomation you need about getting to St. George's should be here:

https://www.sgul.ac.uk/about-us/how-to-get-here

Looking forward to seeing you soon!
