Event description

Description

After visits to the Bodleian Library in Oxford and The National Archives at Kew, we are fortunate to have been offered a visit on Monday May 13th to the British Library, to view some of its fabulous collection of maps and documents relating to Jamaica.

We will be welcomed with coffee and pastries in the Terrace Restaurant after which we will be given a short tour of the building and introduction to the history of the British Library, and then a ‘Show and Tell’ of historic and important Jamaican documents.

There will be an opportunity to see the Library’s ‘Treasures’ gallery. After the organised visit, you may want to view the Library’s major new exhibition, ‘Writing: Making Your Mark’.

This event is for members of the FGSJ only and numbers will be strictly limited.
