Birmingham City University proudly presents the2018 British Society of Criminology Conference, running from the 3rd (Postgraduate Day Only) to the 6th of July. The conference will be hosted by the University’s Centre for Applied Criminology and will take place in the brand new city centre campus in the heart of Birmingham.

Main conference: 4th-6th July '18

Keynote speakers will include internationally renowned criminologists - To be confirmed soon.

The Conference Dinner will take place at the world famous Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

The BSC 2018 Conference will be relevant to both UK and international delegates, from academic and practice-based backgrounds, with an interest in: criminology, criminal justice, socio-legal studies, social policy, law, human rights, psychology and sociology.

You’ll find a diverse and welcoming environment at Birmingham City University. We’re a modern and dynamic international university, with staff, students and alumni from more than 100 countries.

Birmingham is quickly transforming into a world-class city. It is ideally placed to bring people together and host
to the British Society of Criminology Conference in 2018. Birmingham City University and its newlybuilt, extensive city centre Eastside campus, is just a short walk from Birmingham City Centre and its iconic and modern ‘Bullring Shopping Centre’ and recently redeveloped New Street Station (and Snow Hill and Moor Street
rail stations).

The overarching conference theme is Transforming Criminology.

Our aim is to provide space for criminologists to forge critical discussion, debate and contestation, however our aim is to be broad and inclusive and to facilitate discussion and participation. We plan to deliver sessions on the following sustentative themes:
