About this event

At this year's Annual Council Meeting, we will be electing:

  • One Treasurer
  • Three trustees on a full three-year term

The British Youth Council Trustee Board is responsible for many things including strategic planning, accountability and performance measurement. They are legally responsible for the charity.

People elected to the Trustee Board should have skills, knowledge and experience in governance, finance, networking, leadership, advocacy, marketing and much more.

They are responsible for setting the vision, values and objectives of the British Youth Council, act on behalf of BYC as a decision making body on some policy matters, representing the British Youth Council to other bodies and promote the British Youth Council to external organisations.

The Treasurer has additional responsibilities, such as chairing the Finance Committee, supporting the Chief Executive, overseeing the annual budget, support the keeping of financial records, liaising with auditors and approving audited accounts.

These hustings will be a chance for member organisations to hear from the candidates on why they would like to on the Trustee Board.
