Description

28th of April Brixton Orchard: Companion Planting

Spring is here! Birds are singing and we at Urban Growth are loving it! Come and join us to learn about companion planting by planting in a lot of alpine strawberries, borage and a whole load of other plants that encourage growth in other species as well attracting pollinators.

The plants we have selected access different nutrients at different soil levels and make them available for other plants and fruit trees. Certain plants also attract bees, while others attract butterflies, ladybirds and more. We will teach you how to choose planting companions why!

We will also do general gardening and learning about horticulture and the local ecosystem on the Brixton Orchard!

The Brixton Orchard is a community project which aims to encourage more people to interact with and learn about the natural world on their doorstep - even in the unlikeliest of places, at one of London’s busiest junctions!
On the a Saturday near the end of each month we hold a free public workshop.

If you have any questions please call Seb at 07715656665 or email him at woods@urbangrowth.london.

Please dress accoring to the weather!
