BRIXTON REVIVAL TALK - REALIZED, REVEALED & REVISITED
6pm Talk (7pm onwards late night shopping and music event)
Artist and designer Alvin Kofi (KofiArts) will talk about the concept and development behind the new Revival brand. He will explain how, through a collaboration with Terry Humphrey (TrunkstoreArts), they linked their experiences to create an installation which pays homage to the Culture, Creativity and Enterprise of Brixton communities both past and future.
Brixton Revival plays on nostalgic African Caribbean images, reminiscences of music, food, sound and art. The artists celebrate their own memories (realized) of youth and ask visitors, locals and old time residents what memories they hold (revealed) and what they would you revive from their past to inform the present day and the future (revisited).
Join them afterwards for a special '#BrixRevival' late night shopping event at Diverse; an opportunity to purchase Brixton Revival campaign memorabilia, buy gift items to revive those memories for family and friends, listen to some revival tunes and enjoy a live musical performance.
What is your revival? Come along, hear & share revival moments and experience the Brixton Revival Installation, Soundscape and Good Time Vibes.....
