Broad Oak Water – A New Reservoir for Canterbury

By The Canterbury Society

Overview

South East Water is proposing a major new reservoir just north of Canterbury. Join us for a public talk to find out what’s planned.

South East Water is proposing a major new reservoir – Broad Oak Water – just north of Canterbury. This scheme aims to secure long-term water supplies for Kent and the wider region. The project is still in the early stages of investigation, survey and design, with a formal public consultation planned for 2026.

This public talk, hosted in Canterbury, will provide:

  • An overview of the proposed reservoir
  • The environmental and community benefits
  • How you can get involved in the process

This is a great opportunity to learn more about one of the largest infrastructure projects proposed in our area and to ask questions directly.
