Regulatory Strategy: Scotland, and ‘One Planet Prosperity' – Mr Terry A’Hearn (CEO, SEPA)
Mr Terry A’Hearn has been Chief Executive Officer at Scottish Environment Protection Agency since April 2015. He will talk about regulation in the environmental context, in particular SEPA’s new strategy, “One Planet Prosperity” which focuses on the global challenge of reducing the over-use of the planet's natural resources. The joint tasks of innovation, collaboration and prosperity, whilst maintaining environmental integrity are at the heart of this strategy.”
The Brodies environmental law lectures are held every year at the University of Edinburgh in association with Brodies LLP. Started back in 1993/94, the Brodies Environmental Law Lecture Series have welcomed an array of interesting and thought-provoking speakers, including senior judges, practitioners, and academics. The area of environmental law is becoming increasingly relevant to both academics and practising lawyers. The Brodies lectures aim at creating a synergy between academia and practice in this area of law, as crucial in practice than it is in research. They last 1 hour and are followed by a 30 minutes question session and refreshments.
