About The Artists
Diana studied the viola and piano at the Royal Northern College of Music and worked afterwards as a professional orchestral and chamber music player in England and America. She later worked full time as a peripatetic strings teacher.
In recent years Diana has focused her musical career more on the piano, teaching privately, performing and continuing to develop her skills studying some of the vast piano repertoire with Lora Dimitrova. She is a member of the advanced piano classes at Bromley Music Trust and Morley College. She has also taken part in the Kent and Bromley International piano schools.
Matthew Baker started learning the keyboard with the Croydon Music School aged 6 and then at age 7 commenced piano lessons with Janet Bishop. More recently he has been studying with Lora Dimitrova, head of keyboard at BYMT and is currently studying for a BMus at Trinity Laban Conservatoire with Professor Mikhail Kazakevich.
Matthew has had the opportunity to play as a pianist and saxophonist in the prestigious Bromley Youth Concert Band and Symphonic Winds, going on tours abroad and performing at the Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall. He has also given concerts as part of a saxophone quartet and piano quintet. Matthew regularly performs in local festivals and has won prizes at both the Bromley and Beckenham festivals.
Winner of the Lewington Cup at the Yamaha International Summer School in 2015 Matthew is delighted to be performing his second recital here at Yamaha Music London.
