Bromsgrove Speakers Club is an independent not-for-profit club, the aim of which is to develop speaking confidence as well as technique. The club is run by its members for its members.
Membership is open to everyone age 18 and upwards.
We invite you to come along to a couple of meetings to see what we do before deciding whether to join us. You will have the opportunity to take part in some speaking activities as a visitor if you wish. Once you become a paid-up member you will be more fully involved and will join our development programme. The way we operate is based on our Speaker Development Roadmap, which is available to view on our website.
We meet all year round on a fortnightly basis, subject to variations to accommodate Christmas etc. From a speaking perspective it does not make any difference when you join, as meetings are self-contained. The membership fee for 12 months is £129.
Our meetings start on the dot of 8.00pm and so we ask members and visitors to arrive around 7.45 – 7.50. Arriving earlier gives you the opportunity to have a chat and get to know members. We aim to finish by 10.00pm.
We expect members to attend the majority of meetings, not just ones where they have a role. This is important to provide support and encouragement to fellow members.
We ask members not to use any form of offensive language and to avoid speaking on potentially controversial subjects such as political agendas, religion or sex.
We share your contact details only as far as required for the purpose of running meetings. We do not allow photography, filming or recording without the express permission of members.
Please be aware that we are not a networking group. We ask members to refrain from attempting to promote their businesses, charity fundraising or any other activities not directly associated with Bromsgrove Speakers Club.
To book a taster session, you can do this either here, or through our website at https://bromsgrovespeakers.org.uk/contact-us/, which will make it easier for us to manage.
More information about what we do, our venue and meeting dates, is available on our website: https://bromsgrovespeakers.org.uk/.
