Join our Brook Briefing to learn more about Welsh Government's new Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) Code and Guidance.

About this event

Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) becomes mandatory for all learners aged 3-16 in Wales from September 2022. Join our Brook Briefing to learn more about what is required of schools and settings as they begin to implement RSE using Welsh Government’s RSE Code and Guidance.

With almost 60 years’ experience supporting young people’s sexual health and wellbeing, Brook is here to help schools and teachers understand how they can implement the new RSE curriculum for Wales.

Briefing aim: To brief teachers / RSE Leaders / Senior Leadership Teams on the requirements of Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) Code and Guidance and provide a basic framework to support implementation in the real life context of their school.

By the end of the training, you will:

  • Be able to understand the statutory requirements for RSE.
  • Be able to understand the difference between the RSE Code and the RSE Guidance in Wales.
  • Be able to understand what the 3 Strands of learning are for RSE.
  • Be able to understand what RSE is expected to be covered in Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3.
  • Be able to understand what the Principles and Approaches are for RSE.
  • Be able to recognise different resources available from Brook to support RSE teaching and signposting to other credible resources.

Please choose from the three available dates. All briefings are hosted over Zoom. If you have any questions about the briefing, please contact Christian.Webb@brook.org.uk.

Joining instructions to the Zoom event will be shared with you in advance.
