Event description

Description

Talking to young people about their sexual health can be a daunting experience. In this training, we draw on our 50 years of expertise of talking to young people about their sexual health and provide a comprehensive overview of the information that you need to know in order to work effectively in this area.

Participants will be able to:

  • gain knowledge, skills and understanding of what is important and what is needed for RSE delivery today

  • look at policy guidance and how statutory RSE can look in their school

  • understand the importance of a ‘whole school' approach

  • feel confident in implementing some changes in their school

  • be able to develop own school’s SRE policy

  • develop skills to support young people to achieve safe, healthy, happy relationships and sex

  • feel more confident approaching the subject with young people with learning difficulties

  • identify sexual health and wellbeing services (including Brook) to signpost young people to.

We look at how to have difficult and timely conversations with young people around issues that can affect relationships and sexuality.

This training is delivered by our education specialists who work with young people on a day to day basis in a range of setting, either in schools, colleges or youth hubs or in our local clinic.

This training will be particularly useful for non-specialist teachers teaching PSHE for the first time, or for those with responsibility for leading on PSHE in schools or colleges and work with young people with SEN.

For more information or to book a place, please email: dean.cattell@brook.org.uk
