Brook talks about: Sex and Relationship Education (SRE) for young people with Learning Disabilities aims to provide participants with a basic knowledge and understanding of the communication issues around sex and relationships with young people with learning difficulties and disabilities. It will provide an overview of the safeguarding processes with regards to young people with learning disabilities (LD) and explain how this differs from those young people without LD.
By the end of the training participants will be able to…
- Explore personal issues and concerns regarding this client group;
- Examine different methods of communication with this client group and how they can be used in a consultation / conversation
- Gain an understanding of the best resources to support LLDD young people in an SRE education setting.
Who is this training applicable to?
Anybody working with young people.
Who is entitled to a free place?
Professionals working in Sandwell with young people under 25 can access the training free of charge. If you have any queries regarding your eligibility please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can I pay to attend?
If you are from outside of Sandwell unfortuantely you cannot pay to attend this training. Please look at other Brook training to see if there is another suitable training.
