Event description

Description

In this Brown Bag lunch Lori Dobeus will talk through some of the core methodology that can be used when you encounter a case of unconscious bias as a coach. If you find yourself with a coachee who is managing a diverse team, or dealing with someone with a remarkably different background, it can be challenging to raise the topic of their own bias. Lori will discuss techniques for helping a coachee to consider how their background might have shaped their view of the world, and ways to enter into more charged conversations about race, gender, and other barriers to inclusion.

Lori Dobeus is the founding principal of Advancing Inclusion. She is an expert in diversity and an experienced business coach having graduated from the Mastered programme in 2010. She worked 8 years with McKinsey & Company in London, 4 of which were spent as the global co-lead for internal diversity and inclusion. During that time she worked with global leaders to measure and increase the diversity of the talent pool, designed and rolled out unconscious bias training for managers, and revamped the leadership structure for diversity affinity groups. She contributed to external research on the impact of gender and ethnic diversity in boards/executive teams published as Diversity Matters. She currently sits on the advisory committee for Open For Business, a coalition of global businesses committed to articulating the business case for LGBT inclusion.
