Brown Bag Lunch: Christopher Mills on Re-branding
Wed 1 March 2017, 10:20 – 10:25 EST
MEYLER CAMPBELL ALUMNI ONLY.
What’s behind a successful organisational transformation? Innovation is often thought of as a eureka moment, but companies that have pulled off major changes and rebrands have done a lot of long-term work behind the scenes. Coaching can play a significant role here, in setting the strategic direction, keeping things on track and ensuring everyone is on board, supported and equipped to play their part in the change.
Schillings achieved the challenging objective of reinventing their brand, their leadership and their business with panache, winning the FT’s Innovation award for ‘Brand, Culture and Strategy’ in the process. The firm has undergone a far-reaching strategic transformation from a small, niche, English legal practice to a fast-growing international business that seamlessly integrates intelligence, investigations, advisory, cyber security and legal expertise into multi-disciplinary teams to solve clients’ problems. Our speaker for this event is Christopher Mills, COO of Schillings, and he will describe how a deep commitment to creating an environment where everyone can flourish was core to the endeavor. The result has been abundant innovation, a record high retention rate, enviable financial results and a diversification to a multi-disciplinary business such that almost half the firm’s client facing- staff are notlawyers – including intelligence operatives, cyber experts, former-military strategists and risk consultants.
In this exclusive Meyler Campbell event, Schillings COO Christopher Mills will give a no-holds-barred account of their (ongoing) corporate journey. In an interactive Q&A format, he will share his inside knowledge of what works and what doesn’t, drawing out lessons that can be applied elsewhere.
Christopher Mills is the Chief Operating Officer and partner at Schillings. He works with key stakeholders in developing the strategic growth plan and delivering the expansion of the multi-disciplinary business. As a professional marketer he was the first non-legal partner at Schillings and was one of the key leaders driving the transformation of Schillings through its award winning re-brand and re positioning of the firm. His specific focus right now is on leading the clients and markets activity and people and talent management to help the firm grow rapidly and better serve its international client base.
This is a Brown Bag lunch with a difference: come along to keep informed about the critical business trends affecting your clients’ businesses today.
