Event description

Description

Ian Florance and Penny Moyle have each worked in psychometric test development and publishing for substantial portions of their respective careers, with deep expertise in several of the major personality assessment (e.g. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the FIRO and 16pf). They have both now gravitated to business coaching and will provide a lively double-act for this informal but informative presentation. The pros and cons of different psychological assessments popular in organisations will be outlined, highlighting when and how they can be deployed to greatest effect. It will be an opportunity to understand the landscape of psychometric testing as well as to question and discuss the relevance of an assessment-based approach.

Penny Moyle is a business psychologist, executive manager and coach. Until recently she was the CEO of OPP Ltd., one of Europe’s largest providers of business psychology services and publisher of psychometric assessments, including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, FIRO-B, 16pf and TKI. For over 20 years she has been using these tools to help consultancy clients and OPP’s own staff unlock their personal potential, with particular expertise in the successful management of change. She has trained literally hundreds of HR practitioners in the use of these tools and techniques across Europe and in the US. Penny will complete the Meyler Campbell Mastered Programme in 2017, a programme that has helped to build on her personality-based coaching experience.

Ian Florance is a Meyler Campbell graduate who runs his own company Only Connect Ltd. He’s worked for over 30 years in the testing sector and is a founder and Executive director of the European Test Publishers Group. He writes every month for the British Psychological Society’s journal, the Psychologist, and has contributed to written and broadcast media on business and psychological issues. Ian was a visiting tutor at London’s University of the Arts and is a poet and novelist.
