About this family activity

South Lough Neagh Regeneration Association has joined up with Brownlow house & Lurgan Park to bring to on a journey of discovery.

Firstly, we will be taking our Loughshore mummies along with their eldest child to Brownlow House where their facillators will tell us stories about this beautiful building. We will uncover the heritage that lies between the walls and you will get to explore around the house. After, we will invite you both to the dining area for afternoon tea.

Following, we are inviting you to meet up with the rest of your family at Lurgan Park for a family scavenger hunt. This activity will be led by Glenn from Lurgan Park. Glenn has worked in Lurgan Park from many years and is a fountain of knowledge. He will explain how Lurgan Park is connected to Brownlow House and has carefully designed fun but educational scavenger hunt for you all to enjoy. Each family will be given a point to find area the park and at this point you will uncover its connection to Brownlow House.

This activity is for the family who love to do something alternative and is interested in learning more about their local area. You will be learning the history of local historic buildings and parks, the what’s, how’s and whys!

Why is this day free?

South Lough Neagh Regeneration Association (SLNRA) is delighted to have been awarded funding under the EU’s PEACE IV Programme to deliver its ‘Bringing People Together’ project.

The project is being supported by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council as part of the PEACE IV Building Positive Relations programme. The PEACE IV Programme is a cross-border initiative, financed through the European Union and managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

This project will be focused on learning, sharing and appreciating of each other’s cultures by bringing people together to demonstrate the similarities of local cultures throughout our council area. Through our on-going work, we are finding there is an invisible divide and we want to tackle that divide and show our people there is plenty of room for everyone. We will be working closely with traditional crafters, community groups, charities, and schools to make this project a huge success.

Our family activities are usually snapped up pretty quickly (which is great for us but not too fair for you). We take everyone’s registration, split them into areas and at random choose a family. We feel this is only fair for all our Loughshore families.

If you need more info pop us an email on southloughneagh@gmail.com or send us a DM.
